Interview Argente Software, the pleasant surprise of 2008

Argente Software How? How long have you been developing software?

Argente Software is composed of a single person. There is a company, a name indicative only. My work consumes most of the day and also study at a nightclub. In his free time, the few that I can, I start with this hobby.

I started almost two years ago with very basic applications, such as "Beginnings" (today is Argente – StartUp Manager), Alarm, Process, AutoShutdown and some another.

Then I began with another batch of more advanced applications, such as StartUp Manager 1.5.

What application are you most proud?

Argente – Registry Cleaner, probably the application that has cost me more and more success (with hundreds of thousands of downloads).

Just because you create it, it’s not as complicated as you might think, but getting to know the guts of the Windows registry, knowing where to look and how to fix the error, it’s really complicated.

I think people have a misconception about the programs they are responsible for cleaning the registry, associating to find better. In this case, an exception, a way of thinking is wrong. Programs Registration complete analysis usually create more problems than they solve.

Currently I have been tested for a full analysis, with no good results. It can detect invalid routes anywhere in the Windows registry, but after a thousand and one test, I see that causes more problems than benefits. Where to scan only and correct the problems properly, is priority.

What motivated you to develop Argente – Disk Cleaner?

Another program which I am proud is Argente – Disk Cleaner. I had always used the famous (and excellent) CCleaner, and I told myself why not one for me and you know exactly what you erase?

Well I did, even adding many things that other programs had no style or if they were to pay.

What is your next project?

In the future, I hope that very soon, will be released Argente Utilities. That has always been my idea, create a program that had lots of things very simple for novice users, I like to guide you through the steps you need to do highlighting what to press, comprehensive and expert users, With lots of options and tools.

A few months ago I made the first attempt to create Argente Utilities (I called Argente – Utilities Suite, if you look on Google, surely you are). I did not like the result. With only four or five applications, the program has already weighed more than 30 megs, this was not the direction he wanted to go.

Then I thought only integrate an application with a single generic code that fits all and will only take between 6 and 7 megs. Today the project is moving forward and taking shape in that direction.

How can it all be a single person?

Adobe Photoshop. Alternative: The Gimp
